Cocona® Fleece accelerates moisture evaporation to maintain warmth and comfort
THE END-USE CHALLENGE:
• 100% polyester fleece fabrics, especially microfleece, can tend to feel hot and clammy at higher activity levels when perspiration increases. Ordinary polyester does not have any moisture absorption or wicking properties in itself. Therefore, liquid sweat tends to stay in the first layer or on the skin rather than being effectively transported into the mid-layer and through the garment system.
THE COCONA PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE:
• Cocona fleece utilizes Cocona® polyester yarn and the patented Cocona finishing process to facilitate moisture transfer and accelerate drying.
• Cocona fleece does this by creating effective water absorption, superior wicking and 3D-accelerated drying from the huge added surface area of the Cocona® carbon particles.
• Like spreading water on a table from a puddle to a larger area dries it quicker, more surface area on a yarn allows the same amount of water to be spread over a wider area for faster evaporation.
• Cocona polyester yarns have over 10 times the surface area of regular polyester yarns. By comparison, even dogbone fibers only has an increased surface area of 2 times compared to regular polyester.
