THE END-USE CHALLENGE:
• Athletic footwear like running shoes deal with constant challenges of moisture from the inside as well as the outside that can adversely affect comfort and athletic performance.
• Keeping feet dry is key to athletic performance. Poor breathability in both materials and footwear construction methods can block moisture transfer out of the shoe or boot. This can create high a humidity and heat build-up near and skin leading to great potential for blisters, more discomfort and diminished athletic performance.

• Cocona footwear fabrics utilize Cocona® polyester yarn and the patented Cocona finishing process to facilitate moisture transfer and accelerate drying.
• Cocona fabrics provide effective water absorption, superior wicking and 3D-accelerated drying from the huge added surface area of the Cocona® carbon particles.
• Like spreading water on a table from a puddle to a larger area, more surface area on a yarn allows the same amount of water to be spread over a wider area for faster evaporation.
• Cocona polyester yarns have over 10 times the surface area of regular polyester yarns. By comparison, even dogbone fibers only has an increased surface area of 2 times compared to regular polyester.
