THE END-USE CHALLENGE:
• Particularly in warmer climates and/or at higher activity levels - wool runs into limitations that can shift the preference more towards synthetics:
• Wool can become very wet and heavy - making drying more problematic.
• Wool’s natural water-hating outer surface does not efficiently absorb and wick liquid sweat, often leaving your skin more wet.
• The higher temperatures and humidity inside the garment can swell the skin more and make “wool prickle” more a comfort issue.
THE COCONA PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE:
• Cocona-merino™ fabrics combine Cocona fiber with merino fiber and the patented Cocona® fabric-finishing process for accelerated drying performance.
• Cocona-merino fabrics retain the favorable qualities of pure merino but better manage liquid sweat to speed the drying time for enhanced comfort in high-output and warmer conditions.
• This is accomplished by creating immediate wetting/superior wicking and a very large, 3D-surface area from the activated coconut carbon in Cocona fiber.
• Tests have shown Cocona-merino fabric can dry up to 5 times faster than pure merino when wet.
